Bill Cole has been active in labour education his whole career. In addition to teaching at the University of Ottawa, and Carleton University, he has been a frequent speaker at Harvard's annual Trade Union Program. He most frequently speaks to union leaders on collective bargaining process and power development, as well as dispute resolution, interest arbitration and mediation. Given his ongoing doctoral research on engagement and the relationship between union leaders and members, Bill also works directly with clients, or speaks to labour groups, on followership, organizational development and strategies for enhancing organizational commitment and participation.

For the last decade Bill has been part of an executive leadership team that works with union audiences on a broader range of topics, including intergenerational issues for union leaders, succession and strategic planning, contemporary legal issues like duty of fair representation as well as leadership development. Check out our articles section for more on labour education.
